Normally, I would be jacked up with emotion during the days leading up to the annual A&M/tu game played the day after Thanksgiving. I would lay awake at night imagining ways in which our beloved Ags would power through the t-sips from Austin. Almost every waking moment would somehow have some relevance, some inner tie-in to the tangle of the third longest rivalry in NCAA football history.
This has not been a normal year. To recap the season:
1. We won the first 3 non-conference games at home and then subsequently stunk up the Orange Bowl with a weak performance against an average Miami team.
2. The Fran VIP scandal breaks and even his most ardent supporters know that the end for him may be near.
3. We opened up the conference schedule with 2 home wins against teams we should beat, Baylor and Oklahoma State.
4. Reality sets in as we go 1-4 in the next 5 games with embarrassing losses to tech and OU - again. We showed some heart in losses to KU & Mizzou and manage to beat a crappy Nebraska team.
I've said my prayers to the good Aggie God up in heaven and hope that we can muster enough strength to beat the wicked wrong-horns, but this is tough. I've never disliked a coach as much as Fran. Even when the end was near for RC, I still pulled for him. A game awaits, as does a new coach and hopefully loftier standings for our program. Beat the hell outta tu & Beat the hell outta Fran. And if you're listening up there - please help us out this Friday...
