Piece & Peace

I'll start off this post by stating that, after the pathetic performance against the Jayhawks, I didn't expect a stellar showing against OU or an upset road win. That being said, I thought the game would at least be competitive for a few quarters and that we might be able to hang around and have a chance.

Well, that's what I get for thinking.

And just exactly what our lying overpaid moronic head coach was thinking during the course of last Saturday evening's whipping is anyone's guess. Revisiting the site of the worst loss EVER by an A&M team, Dennis "Fraudphony" Franchione called plays as if he were taking advice from grammatically incorrect fortune cookies: Mightily you will struggle; When others might run, go pass; Do not listen to wisdom, let your lack of morals be your guide; Underutilize your strengths at a moment most critical. We looked like the team that we are - good athletes running predictable high-school plays with little or no intensity. As the game clock ticked away and another victory was being enjoyed by one of our Big 12 South rivals, the only thing that comforted me and Pat McAggie, Bones Mc12thman & Devin McMaroon was the fact that our Fightin' Texas Aggie Band held the 85,000 folks in attendance captivated for their entire performance. We lost the first and second halves, but we OWNED halftime.

As the game ended, Bones Mc12thman and I walked over to the ramp where the players and coaches would walk up. After several minutes, we saw the man paid to be our coach walk by and I told him to "Quit" and "Leave us, now!" His daughter turned to us and then they left. I said my piece and then I felt peace come over me. I know that Dennis is a human being with thoughts and feelings and that he likely wanted to do well. That being said, he was not a good coach and he lied to the Aggie faithful and his boss. I think it's important that our next coach be a man of good substance, as well as charisma (and it wouldn't hurt to bring home a lot of wins). The season is ending and we won't win the Big 12. We will, however, begin anew. Optimism abounds on the horizon. Hopefully we can still beat Mizzou and tu. We move forward, not backwards into a new direction. Stay strong...and Gig 'Em!
